I can't believe it's 2013! I was clearly a huge slacker on the blog this past year. I'll try to do better this coming year. I did promise Kristen that I would post at least one new post, so I've met at least one goal. I had lots of fun times with family and friends during 2012. Here's one big post of pictures to sum it up!
We went downtown and walked around Superbowl Village with friends in February!
Moe came back from Cali and our big group of friends all got together at Woody's!
We had tickets to the country megaticket with friends this year. So that meant several different country concerts over the course of the summer up at Verizon Music Center. Lots of fun!
I had my annual trip to the State Fair with my family and Brian. It's pretty much the same every year, but it's always a lot of fun to hang out and enjoy the fair food!
My parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this year. It was also the weekend after my mom's birthday. So my sisters and I took the opportunity to make the family "birthday" dinner a surprise anniversary party for my parents. We surprised them with two of their best couple friends and had appetizers, dinner, and dessert for the six of them. My parents were definitely surprised and everyone had a great time!
In September, a group of about 20 of us rented some tent sites down at Lake Monroe in Bloomington and spent two nights camping to celebrate a friend's birthday. We also rented a double decker pontoon boat to take out for a day. I hadn't camped in a tent since I was about 12 so that was an experience...
My bestie Erin sold some of her Colts season tickets this year and we bought two of the games. This is at the Colts v. Packers game. What a great one for us to go to!
My friend Jena had her bachelorette party on the Indy Brew Bus where you tour different local breweries. It was different and fun. Plus you could drink on the bus if you bought beer at the breweries! After the day with friends, I went to the Eric Church concert with Brian, his dad, and stepmom. What a great concert!
The next weekend was my cousin Steve's wedding. He married Betty, who got a small taste of what our family is like during the rehearsal, reception, and a family brunch the day after the wedding. It was a great family weekend in Minneapolis.
Wedding month continued the next weekend with a trip down to Jasper for Jena and Dan's wedding. She's one of my college friends who was in my sorority and nursing class. It was so great to spend time with friends I hadn't seen in a few years as well as taking a mini vacation with Brian. After the wedding, we took a long, roundabout way home to make a stop at Ikea as well.
We went to a weekend after Halloween party. The night was filled with beer pong, darts, football, and some telescope star-gazing.
In November, I got locked out of my house. I had gone for a run and when I came back, I realized that my garage door keypad had died. So Brian came and rescued me, with tools and a new 9V battery! So glad that it was an unseasonably warm day.
This year for Thanksgiving, everyone came here from various parts of Texas and Hobart. It was nice not to have to worry about rearranging work to travel, not having to pack, and getting to spend time with both my and Brian's family. We spent the main meal with our own families, Thursday night with his family, and Friday with my family. This was my dad's attempt at using the panoramic option on my iphone.
It was also Hannah's 21st birthday so we got her a pinata filled with mini alcohol bottles and her gift money. And since now we're all 21, the four sisters finally got the chance to go out drinking!
At the start of December, several of our out of town friends were home. That necessitated a large group outing to Woody's, including drinking dreidels and lots of fun!
The last wedding of the year was my sophomore roommate at Ball State, Lindsay. She and Chad had a beautiful ceremony in Noblesville that Brian and I were glad to be able to attend.
I worked on Christmas Eve and Christmas. We were supposed to go to Hobart for the two days after, but the snow interfered and we couldn't go. But my mom's brother and sister were able to come two days later, with cousins in tow. We went to Connor Prairie, went shopping, had family dinner, and played lots of card games. It was great to have some more family time before the end of the year. New Year's Eve was uneventful, but relaxing. Brian possibly had to work, so we stayed in. We made dinner, got a movie, and had some midnight champagne at home. It was a nice way to end one year and head into the next!
